Throughout my career, I was always asked to describe my dream role. It was clear to me that I wanted to portray a strong and independent woman, a real one. The irony of this, is that later, I was cast as Wonder Woman. All of these qualities I look for I found in her.
For me, it was kind of obvious. I grew up having a strong opinionated mother who was also very warm and loving, and you know, a Polish mother, a Jewish mother. And then all of my girlfriends, they’re all very strong and independent and smart and soft and funny. And I believe that’s the way we are, you know, women. I’m very grateful and privileged to have the opportunity to portray the extreme version of that. I bring only what I believe in, and that’s exactly what I believe in.
